I would definitely recommend this product to a friend. I put the filters on fairly easily. Bought my 7 year old a Nintendo DS lite for Christmas and realized quickly that we needed to protect the screens as my son plays with it a lot. Well, I purchased this protective filter based on other reviews and I have to say that I am very pleased. There were just a few very tiny air bubbles at the end that were a bit hard to get out, but other than that my son doesn't even notice that protective filters are on the Nintendo DS and he actually mentioned the same to me.
I tried to fix the problem, but it was too late. And after just few minutes of using it my filter was dirty and scratched all over. Filters ware dirty, had marks and scratches and bubbles all over, my DS couldn't read my writing. I just opened, peeled it and it was stuck. Here goes my 6 bucks. Then I realized that my both filters were wrong side up.
I had to trow it way. I want to tell everybody how important is to FOLLOW DIRECTIONS for this item. I noticed it had a lot of air bubbles, it was hard to get rid off. Once I put filters right side up, It was impossible to use it.
PERFECT. Once placing the filter onto the screen it seemed to just meld onto it. NOTE: I did apply these to brand new, never been used DS lite consoles so the only exposure the screen had to dust and fingers was when I opened the box. I envisioned dust motes and bubbles galore. The filter easily peeled back and reapplied without any hassle. I pushed out a few bubbles and it was perfect.
I was able to start over with one filter which I had applied a little off center. I was worried when I sat down to apply this filter. I carefully wiped the screens and peeled off the backing of the filters. I have applied these to two DS lites this weeks and couldn't be happier.
Trashed the rest. You get 1 try and that is it. First off, the instructions were not in English. I applied it just like I did for my touch phone but these are super sticky. The bubbles are probably because they did not fit on just the screen, but overlapped on my DS which resulted in air underneath. If they had fit just the screen, maybe they would have been okay, but eh, doubtful. The cloth was nice. However, I have used protective covers for my touch cell phone, so I understand how they work. Nowever, one protector is larger than the other one, so which one does it go on, I assumed the top so I started there.
Needless to say, I had so many bubbles that I carefully took it off and threw it out.I tried the bottom one, same results. I kept it. I got this product free with my purchase of my brand new DS Lite. There are 2 protectors inside and a nice cloth (love the cloth). There is no "easy" way to put these on and they seem to result in bubbles galore everytime.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 starts is because the installation is not so intuitive. This is a good product that serves its purpose. I spent some time to figure out which part goes where.
